BS 8666 shape code with dimensions A to E, drawn so the bending machine operator can set up quickly.
Cutting length
Total length of each bar including bend allowances, checked against the stock lengths available.

Weight per mark and totals by diameter, so ordering and billing match the schedule.

Frequently asked questions
What is a bar bending schedule?
A bar bending schedule (BBS) lists every reinforcement bar in an element: its bar mark, type and size, number, cutting length, shape code and bending dimensions. The rebar yard uses it to cut and bend the steel, and the contractor uses it to order and check quantities.
Which shape codes do you use?
BS 8666 shape codes are standard on most UAE projects, and that is our default. We use other standards when the specification calls for them.
Can you prepare a BBS from our own drawings?
Yes. Send your approved rebar shop drawings and we schedule from them. If you do not have shop drawings yet, we can prepare the drawings and the BBS together.
What format do you deliver the BBS in?
Excel and PDF as standard, laid out the way your rebar yard or your quantity surveyor prefers.
Can you give us the steel tonnage for a tender?
Yes. We prepare rebar quantity take-offs and tonnage summaries by element and level for tenders, budgets and material orders.
